Social Media in Medicine
At the conclusion, the participant should be able to:
1)DEFINE social media; 2)NAME the (this week’s) major social media sites and apps and DESCRIBE their uses and users; 3)DESCRIBE medical student use of social media; 4)LIST some ways patients use social media and benefits for them; 5)LIST some medical uses of social media by clinicians; 6) IDENTIFY barriers to the use of social media by physicians; 7)ARTICULATE some strategies to put use of social media into practice (or not); 8)LOCATE guidelines on the use of social media by physicians. Questions and answers will allow for audience participation.
