At the conclusion, the participant should be able to: 1. IDENTIFY various categories of disease information, to include etiology, pathophysiology, incidence and prevalence, presentation, diagnosis, treatment, etc; 2) IDENTIFY the depth of information in each disease resource; 3) IDENTIFY if a resource is constantly updated versus only updated when new “editions” are published; 4) IDENTIFY online and PDA resources for the following: Differential Diagnosis, Disease Quick References, Calculators, Coding, Laboratory resources; 5) USE online and PDA resources to determine a differential diagnosis; 6) USE online and PDA resources to find disease information; 7) USE online and PDA resources to find ICD-9 codes; 8) USE online and PDA Calculators; 9) DOCUMENT laboratory information; 10) USE electronic information at the point of care and regular electronic alerts/news as methods for keeping up to date; 11) MODEL the use of the library resources in your practice to keep up to date.
