As a result of participating in this workshop, participants should be able to: • DEFINE social media; • NAME the (this week’s) major social media sites and apps and DESCRIBE their uses and users; • DESCRIBE medical student use of social media; • LIST some ways patients use social media and benefits for them; • LIST some medical uses of social media by clinicians; • IDENTIFY barriers to the use of social media by physicians; • ARTICULATE some strategies to put use of social media into practice (or not); • LOCATE guidelines on the use of social media by physicians. Questions and answers will allow for audience participation.
