Family Medicine Education Director Meeting
At the conclusion, the participant should be able to:
1) REVIEW the new evaluation tool for the 3rd year clerkships that focuses on competencies and ask for feedback since the new form was used for the first time in mid-August; 2) DISCUSS the assessment of student’s clinical performance regarding presentations, both written and oral; 3) DISCUSS the teaching and evaluation of clinical reasoning in the clerkships; 4) DISCUSS issues regarding student’s demonstration of professional responsibility and cultural competence; 5) DISCUSS methods for point of care teaching, including strategies in busy clinical settings; 6) The revised syllabi for the Family Medicine Clerkship and the Advanced Family Medicine Syllabus will be provided and the participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification. Projects will be discussed and opportunities for clinical faculty involvement will be explored; 7) DISCUSS faculty resources needed for participation in Clerkship teaching role.
