Microscopy Case Studies for the APP

This case study format session will familiarize students and providers new to ENT on the use of the ear microscope as well as essential skills like removal of foreign bodies, cerumen impaction, ventilation tube insertion and intra-tympanic membrane injections. Attendees will be able to: • Become familiar with ear canal and middle ear disease • Become familiar with operating microscope • Demonstrate removing cerumen impaction under microscope • Demonstrate removing foreign body • Discuss diagnosis of otitis externa • Discuss diagnosis of otitis media • Demonstrate myringotomy with ventilation tube insertion • Demonstrate intra-tympanic membrane injection
